Red Deer River
The source of the Red Deer River starts in the Rocky Mountains west of Sundre Alberta and flows eastward toward the Saskatchewan border where it joins up the the South Saskatchewan River. The river is 724 km in length and is primarily fed by snowmelt and precipitation. Water from the Red Deer River is an important source for many communities, and wildlife along it's route. |

Hello Janice,
A late afternoon, low light image showing the desolation of the prairie that allows one to grow curious to the highlights that the prairie offers to the photographer. I imagine there are many formations, both rock and clay that are to be captured, as I see in your image the small formation along the cliff's face.
Good shot,
Steve

Hi Janice!
I'm so glad to see a picture of yours again. And it's as pleasant as usually. I especially like the calmness and serenity created by the atmosphere you have captured. The soft light, the pastel colours and the delicate sky create this effect. It's also interesting to notice that this harmonic feeling is in contradiction with the harsh and scant nature the picture represents.
Kind regards
Markus

Hi Janice,
What a vista you have captured! I see that you took the shot late in the day, when the sun was near the horizon. You managed to catch the last illumination very well. The sky and the cliffs are still well lit, and the river below has to wait until tomorrow. Very rich colours of the cliffs and the sky. I couldn't help but wonder what is casting the shadow. There must be a very high cliff behind you. Very attractive composition. TFS.
Regards,
John
