Enallagma boreale, Selys 1875 The Boreal Bluet.

Not much to say as they are found near bodies of water, rivers and creeks.
There were a number of these, a pair which I was composing to capture took off just as I was ready to shoot. I settled for a number of single males. All captured using manual focus and back to using my body as the bellows focusing system which works for me. Howard reminded me of, Technique. Got it.

I'm happy with this one as I only used a highpass for this one. yabadaba dooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!

I had to cloan out issues from the camera but other then that, slight crop and save for the web.

Manual,
Hand held, oops, sorry Howard, I forgot the tripod. :)

Manual focus

I would like to thank all who have made suggestions and input about the cam and have put up with my complaining. Sorry for doing too much. On Tuesday I will be exchanging 20D bodies as there are other issues
with this cam. The shop suggested to change bodies.

Mike

Hi Mike! Rough that you are having issues with your new camera. Sure hope you can get it resolved! This is a really nice photo, the sunlit greens are so perfect with that little bit of shadow, and the dragonfly is displayed with great detail--we're talking little hairy legs again! Wonderful macro, well done! Good luck! Linda

Hi Mike, very nice shot. I can see this one is in focus from the hairs on the thorax, I htink it could do with a little more sharpening though. Very nice composition. Well done.

Very nice capture Mike,
Great colours & clear details, dof + pov are excellent.

Well done!

Hi Mike,
I have kept up with your forum posts on the 20D since I also have one. I am lucky I have not had any problems yet, other than dust on sensor right out of the box. You are still taking great shots with it. This one has great color and detail. Excellent work!

Beautiful and interesting shot for this superb damselfly with its big lovely eyes ! Composition, colors, details and sharpness are very good ! Thanks for sharing Mike.

Mike this is a lovely post. Simple and striking compo. It can be a bit sharper but I guess its just rubbing salt into your wounds when I say that. :) Sorry...

I follow your Canon 20D forum closely and spoke to Tim (Tinman) during the week. He has the same problem and will lend me his 20D during the week for testing. I will keep you posted when I get it and run some tests on it. I will get a 350 for testing as well this week, can't wait to see what these babies can do.

Wow! What a great catch. I saw these flies at Acton yesterday, tried to capture one. Ha. Ha. I gave up. You have the talent for it. So clear focus 99% spot on. Mike. Another great shot of yours.
