hello freinds, today i did 5 clicks on woodcock
takeoff flights and another one on a ruffed grouse
and i could not do the in-flight shots, in the takeoff
in-flight they are very fast birds and my bridge
camera has a shutter lag, so i am loosing very
precious fractions of seconds, i wish next year
i will do my photos with a DSLR

on my last posting our friend Umar was asking me
http://www.treknature.com/members/goatman04/

« Asbed...your next project is to find a Woodcock nest...!!! »

So Umar here it is a Woodcock photo on his nest,
i was with my friend that he has the permit from
the Canadian goverment for woodcock chick banding

this photo it is the same bird as these 2 other shots

http://www.treknature.com/gallery/photo206425.htm
and
http://www.treknature.com/gallery/photo207925.htm

on my today's photo we don't see his long beak
but we have a excellent vue on his beautiful eye

Hi Asbed.

I'm sure glad to be back looking at your gallery. You have gone to the ground looking at this beauty. Fine shot in nature depicting the real situation in life.

Ciao Asbed, difficul capture of Woodcock in its nest, splendid focus on eye, great sharpness and wonderful natural colors, great macro, very well done, ciao Silvio

Bonjour Asbed,

Hello Asbed,
A very nice capture in your American Woodcock series, this time showing an adult on its nest. Most of it shows well with excellent sharpness and colours and the fact that the bill is not visible is part of the difficulties in photographing this species in its habitat.
Thanks and all the best,
Ivan

Hi Asbed,
you have captured the bird rightly in its surrounding well intact.
Very original and very well remdered in details. The blurry small plants make the composition very special.

Regards,
Foozi

A very well seen shot.the frame is very beautiful and the light perfect.
Very well done,Asbed.

Hallo Asbed,

What catch! Well you saw it on time and not get the "posed" it for you! Excellent playing, congratulations.
Have a beautiful Saturday,
Adrian

Dear Asbed,
Another well presented documentary photo, taken with good photographic skills.
You obviously walk a lot in the woods and are VERY observant to have spotted the bird on the nest. Quebec is a beautiful part of the world, and I hope to see many more photos from you.
Have a nice week-end
Regards
Ingrid

Hi Asbed,
Nice shot of this chick in its nest. Well seen in natural environment. Very well done.

I was on the way to working on this shot when I got called away....I'll say one thing You most certainly have the eye for detecting things which are trying to hide......It's what they do eh?
Bob

Hello,
The composition, sharpness, detail and POV are all excellent.
Best wishes,
Achim

Great capture Asbed!!
How did you ever see this little guy, he is so well hidden?
Good detail and nicely composed with very natural colors!! Love the low POV and great DOF you managed to get. TFS.
I can't remember the last time I actually saw a Woodcock.
