Common burdock with a bloom. The flower is similar in colour and size to the Scottish thistle, but the leaves on this plant are rounded and wide. Quite edible as I mentioned in my last post.
Fisher adds to my commentary the fact that his cat gets into the burrs of this plant in the fall, and we know that combing them out is really a chore. Ah well, it is pretty, for now, and one of the few plants thriving in this Southern Ontario drought.
