The eastern chipmunk has light stripes above and below its eyes and it has pouched cheeks that it uses to store and carry food.
Eastern chipmunks mate in early spring. The female usually has one litter a year with between three and five young. In some areas, a female may have a second litter. The young will come above ground when they are about six weeks old.

Wonderful Photo, congratulations.
Hello Jerolim
Cute wee chipmunk. Nice depth of colour in the coat and good detail. Shame the hand i in the shot. It is very distracting.
Hi,
I too thought the hand distracting. I know it was there to show he was your "little friend" I have done a workshop to remove the hand, I hope you do not mind.
Ron
Hi Jerolim,
I love this shot, great composition, very sharp and excellent point of view. I seem to like the fact that your hand is in the picture, i know how hard it can be to get so close to these cute little chipmunks. They are very shy and move fast. It also helps the viewer to measure the size of these tiny creatures.I'm amazed at the fact that you got so close to this one, i guess this ones a keeper... a true friend of urs.
Thanks for sharing,
Sarah
A very endearing photo, Jerolim. The title helps to explain your purpose in the composition. I like that the nuts are shown in your hand and in the chipmunk's hand :-) Also the diagonal approach of your hand adds to the composition. Sharp detail and colors are natural. Very nicely done! I don't think I'd change it :-)
