[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is the smallest bird in North America the calliope hummingbird. This female happily suprised me this summer while waiting patiently for immature spotted sandpipers to come into view of my hide. I was on a small island with tripod set up and looking one direction when I happened to look over at what I thought was a big bee. Excited I swung the camera around and started firing off as many shots as I could while she continued to feed off these thistles. She was perhaps 3m away. 70-200mm f2.8 + 2XTC

it's a fantastic capture Chris,
the difercult shot is very good taken, the capture is good, details are nice and important is that the bird uis in pov with a great dof, very good job Chris.

Excelelnt catch Chris!
But not very sharp adn clear, the BG is very noisy and the picture is a bit out of focus, I understand that it is very very very very very hard to catch this bird, and you did pretty good!

Hi Chris, this appears to be an immature male but I could be mistaken. You've done well to capture this tiny bird and all it needs is a little post processing to look it's best. I did a workshop on it. Let me know what you think of it. Your composition, background, and focus are right on. ANY shot of a hummingbird is welcomed by me. I love the little buggers. HI Chris. That is a fantastic capture of a hummingbird in flight. It is a bit on the dark side, but considering how hard it is to catch those busy little birds, you did a grat job. The details are crisp and you have a wonderful POV. Well done and TFS. : )

Hi Chris, this can't be an easy shot at the best of times, nevermind from 3m away! I've never seen a hummingbird so I'm quite jealous. You've got a lovely composition here and it is sharp. I love the blur of the wings and the way it emphasizes the movement. You have a good exposure too so well done and TFS :)
