I have reposted this because I really like this photo and I didn't even get a look the first time throught!

I have lighteded it up increased the contrast did a little saturation (+13) then did a USM. It is not so dark but I hope you still get the moist, wet, grey morning feel.

Got this guy very early in the morning. He had been perched hi up in a tree when I first saw him but I followed him down into the dewy grass. He was hunting for slugs and frogs in the grass. He was very focussed on hunting when I approached and I got within 15m. He finally got a slug and then moved on, as he moved he fluffed out his feathers, I guess rearranging them for movement.

Taken with a tripod in the early morning mist, 200mm + 2xTC, no flash to keep the morning feel(and he was too far away)

Hello Chris, This is a great shot of this heron on the move. You have stopped the action nicely with sharp detail, great colors and exposure. The setting/BG is very nice also and the shot does have that "early
morning" feel..Of course, the shot would be better with more space in front rather than behind IMO. Did you crop this? Very good work under not so favorable conditions, Well done.

Hi Chris

I love the fuffled feathers. Nice shot. Excellent light, POV and deatils. Tack sharp with awesome clarity. Well done. Thanks.

Hi Chris! I do not have the time to write a decent comment. I give to you the well deserved smiley. I like very much heron.

The paths are not to be found, but made.
And the activity of making them, changes both the maker and their destination. "
