Hello friends, from my series of new
Woodcock and woodcock chick photos
this one will be the less beautiful

On this photo i have my other Coolpix
in my hands because with this one
if there is flight i can shoot it

As i have already written you need
a pointing dog to can found this
for you in the forest floor, my friend
he is a woodcock banding technician
for the Canadian Government, on this
photo his dog is on point, i stayed
a little bit far because if there is
a flight i can shoot it in photo

he told me i am seeing the woodcock
on the ground, i came and i saw also,
among that vegetation i tried to focus,
i did 2 or 3 clics, i wanted to change POV
when i saw a first chick then 2 other chicks
that they where with Mommy, i told my friend:
« Michel, she is with her chicks ! »

My friend told me don't move, he get is
fishing net gived to me told me to cacth
with it the chicks (for banding them),
he went he took his dog put on leash
and attached a little far on a tree

The first reflex i had is to try to catch
the Mommy with the fishing net to do a
banding to the Mommy also, when my friend
came and asked me if i had the chicks
my answer was « Yes Michel it is the Mommy
that i catched with the fishing net »

My friend was suprized very happy,
with the chicks (4) he will also do
a banding of the Mommy Woodcock

As i wrote this photo it is not beautiful
as a photographer would want, but the
photo shooting conditions was difficult,
when i did this photo i did not yet know
that in the photo it was also a baby,
the baby it is at the right side of
the photo, i cropped to have them closer

Merci

Asbed

Hi Asbed,
thanks for your photo. Very interesting note and situation. Unfortunatelly, there were a lot of leaves, so the main subject is a little hidden. But this is a true nature!!
Have a nice weekend,
Maciek

Salut Asbed!

Hello Asbed,
Is amazing that how these Woodcock chick try to survive from predator, very well seen and well captured, very nice nature shot,
Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend,
Best Regards,
Bungbing.

Hi Asbed,
Indeed, Your dogs are very good pointers! ... Even seeing the photo, is difficult to find the birds! ... As always, you show in photos, what nature can do!

Bonjour Asbed,
Une image-document pour un parfait camouflage et une note très intéressante accompagnant l'image. Toujours intéressant de lire tes textes, toujours personnels et instructifs.
Bonne fin de semaine
Amicalement
Anne

Hello Asbed
Another interesting habitat and behaviour photo.
Regards,
Christodoulos

Ciao Asbed, too great mimetism, very difficult to find, beautiful ambientation with wonderful natural colors, very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio

Bonjour Asbed,
