[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
We bumped into this fellow eating berries near the Jarvis River where we had been fishing for Arctic Grayling. I find the Grizzlies from the interior more beautiful but much smaller than the Grizzlies we photographed the next few days at Haines, Alaska. These coastal grizzlies are almost all brown, but also 200 - 300 pounds heavier. I'm not sure what these red berries were, but with the glare he was giving us, I figured he could have them.

Hi Rick,
It's good to see your posting. Love that eye contact with the bear. It looks like you had a good summer. The Yukon must be nice this time of year. I like your Facebook Bears as well. Have a great rest of the weekend.
Denis.

Rick, Well done. I know the area, have been there, you are a ways from home. I was in Denali last weekend and have a few bears of my own. Was he eating low bush cranberries?
I think 600mm was a great choice for view this bear. Smile.

Scott

Hello Rick.
Wonderful shot of this wonderful specimen - great pose with lovely detail and colour.
Best regards Siggi

I think that icy stare says it all here and the raised paw shows wonderful eating behavior. I believe those are Buffaloberries which are brown bears favorite this time of year. Riley seen his first Grizzly this year while we were at the Crowsnest Pass, the bear was feeding on Buffaloberries. Excellent image Rick.

Fantastic photo Rick! Just Fantastic

Christodoulos

Hello Rick,
what an original shot of the bear. Used to see them in TV, now you show it in real eye to eye. How low you go to shoot is so exciting to note. The sharpness is well retained and its pose is majestic. The wilderness of the creature is very imaginable through this shot.
Well presented in its best originality.

Regards,
Foozi
