| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
these pretty flowers are calles Prairie crocus in Saskatchewan, Canada. Pulsatilla patens is also known as Pasque flowers, Wild crocus, Lion's Beard. Other common names include: Prairie Anemone, Blue Tulip and American Pulsatilla.
They appear soon after the snow has melted after a very long winter and they are a welcome sign of spring.
Prairie crocuses grow from Alaska south and east to Canada, south to central Washington, Idaho, Utah, New Mexico, and Texas. |

Marialuisa,
The Prairie Crocus looks like a delightful encroachment on a stark background. I found your note educational and informative.
Thanks!
