| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
this lovely Coryphanta vivipara or Cushion cactus grows in the Canadian Prairies- an unlikely place- actually it is quite common there.
This small, barrel-shaped cactus grows sometimes single, but most often in a mound. The flowers are pink, lavender or red and 2.5-5cm wide
Spines: in clusters, each 1.5-2cm long
Flowering: May-June
Range: Central Canada, south to southeastern Oregon and southeastern California, and east to Great Plains from Minnesota to western Texas, also in northern Mexico. |

Hi Marialuisa,
Very nice shot!
Excellent POV and well composed,
beautiful colours and great visual impact.
Thanks for sharing!
Hi Marialuisa,
A very nice shot of the flowers on this Cushion Cactus. Vibrant colors, and good detail. It is hard to believe that cactus grow in Canada and live thru those winters.
