I think it is a first on TN, I have not able to find any snowshoe hare posted yet !!!

This picture was taken at the Zoo of St-Félicien in the superb region of Lac St-Jean in Quebec to get some shots of North American species living in their natural habits. The Zoo is open during the winter and you will get to see in the next days my pictures of the following animals : polar bear, red fox, river otter, wolverine, bighorn sheep, mountain goat, Canada lynx, cougar, coyote, snowy owl and bald eagle.

Oh yeah! I forgot, I had a snowshoe hare too :-)

All pictures taken in the snow on a beautiful clear and sunny sky, but cold day (-15°C or 5°F).

So just stay tune, and enjoy !!!

I see him think "I'm not here, I'm not here.."
Beautiful clear shot with excellent lighting.

Nice clear, shard detailed shot. Good illustration of an animal in its habitat.

Well earned smile now, critique later :-)

Very cute shot. Very good POV, detail and composition. The background looks a little noisy. You can try Neat Image to reduce the noise a little.

Good job

Tu as raison, Stéphan. C'est la première photo d'un lièvre avec son pelage hivernal sur TN.
Superbe capture. De quoi faire l'envie de bien des photographes, à commencer par moi!
Merci et bravo!

Lovely shot Stephan. Well done on the management of the whites. Crisp, clear and sharp with a great catchlight in the eye. Thanks.

Beautiful portrait of this hare. The white on white illustrate its protective coloring. The clarity and detail are great. Well done.

A lovely picture all the way around: composition, technique and note. Thanks

Excellente photo de ce lièvre Stephan! La lumière est magnifique. Très bons détails dans la neige et le plumage blanc. Belle netteté et bon point de vue. Merci pour le partage!

Hello Srephan, very nice shot. And I think you are right, I don't recall seeing any snowshoe hares here. It's a well composed and focussed shot but the white balance is quite a way off - and that has given the shadows a very blue feel. I've done a workshop to correct it as best I can.

Well done

Excellent Stephan. Wonderful light here..
Very sharp and detailed with a great POV.
I think this setting of glistening snow FG and the curves seen in the BG make it very special..Great catch-light also..
I did a quick WS to try and improve this great capture. Thank You!

excellent cliché et description riche en détail.
