Red-tailed Hawk: a portrait

I am very happy, my friends, this evening. Happy and tired.
I lived one workday as I like them.
This morning, at 9 am, I took the subway, then the bus, then I walked 45 minutes to reach a place which is called Ecomuseum (a route of approximately 2 hours). Like they say here: The Ecomuseum is a private, non-profit, 11.3 hectare educational wildlife park - operated by the St. Lawrence Valley Natural History Society - where we can observe and study indigenous fauna and flora in their natural habitats.
It is a magnificent place for the photographers. Thus, I took photos, I ate my lunch, I took other photos (a total of 419 photos + 10 sound recordings), then I returned home at the 17.30 am. One workday as I like them. With enough time to think: goings there and back, 4 hours of route.
The strangest, in this history, it is I learnt the existence of this place on TN, because Serge Gagné posted a Harfand des Neiges photographed in this place.

Curious Facts:
Hawks are carnivores (meat eaters) who belong to the category of birds known as raptors.
The Red-tailed Hawk is the most common member of the buzzard hawk family.
The eyesight of a hawk is 8 times as powerful as a human's.
Like all hawks, the Red-tailed Hawk's talons are its main weapons.
The Red-tailed Hawk has hoarse and rasping 2- to3-second scream that is most commonly heard while soaring.
85 to 90 % of the Red-tailed Hawk's diet is composed of small rodents.

Beautiful bird in interesting pose. I like its face, details of feathers and eyes, composition. Another great shot Luc! And great story - I also like days like this.

Like you said, when one is late the other guys have said it all, so I never read the comments until after I have written mine. Sometimes it is uncanny how similar our minds work when looking at subjects!
I love this mug shot, this the slight, curved diagonal, if there is such a thing, the details are very good, the cere and gape colour and detail great. Well done!
