Along the Icefields Parkway near Sunwapta Falls we stumbled across this tree, which has a very strange shape. It probably fell down a couple of years ago and then managed to grow back up again.

This tree would have been growing on the hill side. probly with shrubs around it and it started to grow to the light with epinastic control (ability to grow up right defiying gravity) and then the shrubs got removed around it somehow some way. then grew up words. after that there was most likey a windstorm or somthing made it grow sideways maby a tree blew down and knocked it over some what giving it the curve to the left then started growing up strait again :) that would be my theory of how this tree got this way with have taking forest ecology and knowing what i know. Cool the way the tree bend with nothing around it. looks like its dead. good DOF and colors

Hello frank !
Wow, I love this tree ! Such a fantastic shape, I have never seen something like that before ! I also like the composition, and the beautiful forest in the BG. Must be a great place to walk and to take pictures. Very well done !
