Hi Varahram,
I may be wrong, but I think seeing these caged animals like this gets to you, your pictures portray a real sadness. This is no exception, a Lioness with nothing to do but lay around. Her body muscle appears to be in poor shape, I guess through inactivity. An excellent shot, the tight crop works really well. Great detail and exposure and no obvious man-made distractions. Nice work!
