Visiting Banff National Park on our holiday in Canada this year, we made a hiking trip from Lake Minnewanka up to Stewart Canyon.
I shot this picture standing on the Cascade River Bridge.

Here's a little background information on Stewart Canyon, wich I found on the internet:

Named for George Stewart, first superintendent of Canada’s first national park, Stewart Canyon was one of Lake Minnewanka’s main attractions in Banff’s early days. Much of Stewart Canyon has lain under water since Lake Minnewanka was dammed, raising the level of the lake by 25 metres. Stewart Canyon is shallow compared to Johnston’s Canyon or even Sundance Canyon. The main attraction today is the Cascade River. The trail is level for 1.6 km to the canyon at the Cascade River bridge. After crossing the bridge, the Stewart Canyon Trail separates from the Lake Minnewanka Trail and continues up the Cascade River to km 2.8.

Nel,

That looks like a great place to kayak. Are there narrows or a falls?

Very well composed photo of a lovely place.

Good. The picture is impressive. It appears in clear layers.
I have been in Banff a few years ago.
I tell you what. I help to carry a baby for my friend. She carried my bag. When we finished free walk and back to the bus, I return the baby to her. However, she left my bag on the street where she took photographs. There are US dollar notes and camera in the bag. When we return to the spot, the bag was not there. I tried the last chance and went into the nearest shop. They returned the bag to me. The shopkeeper told me that there is a man walking through the street and picked my bag and he knew I will returned to find so he left to the shop. Please remember nottoleft anything in my home country. You will never find it again. Sorry for a long story of Banff.

Hoi Nel,
Welkom op TN. Wat een mooi begin. de foto heeft een perfect diepte, je wordt gewoon de foto ingetrokken. Kleuren en scherpte zijn perfect. Hopelijk zien we binnenkort nog meer foto's van je,
Groeten,
Niek

Welcome in TN!

Greetings,

Nel,
First, welcome to TN. This photo is what I consider to be the classic composition that is lectured at art classes of a perspective, a correct X-shape composition. Nice colors and a sharp image. Also a good descriptive note. Well done Nel - Keep sharing
Rolf

Workshop extramudi is useful.

Great balance in your shot! The shot from the bridge really gives it depth and your choice of balance in the picture was perfect. Nice job on the shading and colors as well. TFS!
