The Rocky Mountain near Exshaw, Alberta.

This shot was taken later in the morning, looking up a steep hill. I found the rock formation with all the textures and soft colours quite interesting. The sky was such a rich blue colour and I thought it was a nice complimentry colours against the evergreens near the top of the hill.

I was thinking of cropping the shot but felt that the evergreens on both sides of the shot really gave it a bit of ballance. Let me know what you think :)

Hi Janice

These rocks really look interesting. I likt the srteight lines and angles they form...very goemetrical :)
Great POV, nice sharp details, good exposure, colors and shadows.
Very well done!

Hey when did you get a 30D? The FG rock is impressive, but it seems to take up a bit too much of the photo for me. I think it would have looked better if it was more to the left, with the lines of the rock leading out towards the trees.
Did you use a bit of a fisheye lens here? The trees look to be leaning in towards the center of the photo. Looks like a great photo spot though.

Hi Janice,
I have to ditto Tim's critique. The trees actually looks kind of funny this way. What kind of lens did you use. The colors and sharpness are perfect and what about that blue sky....stunning.
TFS,
Niek

Lovely colours and an interesting POV. Interesting shaped rocks. I think you were right to leave it as it is and not crop it

Hi Janice,
This is a great POV with amazing lightning! This sky is so blue, it is almost unreal :) I like this composition with great details and DOF and no, I don't think you should crop it. TFS,
Claudine

Despite the previous critiques, I like this one Janice. It does look like a really WA lens, but I like the rock in the fg with the strong contrast. My suggestion would be to place the rock on the left side, and balance it with the trees and hill on the right. Keep shooting and posting!

Hello Janice,
Your image shows well how this rock was created in different layers!
I like your upward point of view, adding dynamics to the composition...
Good colours and details, the textures are excellent!

Hi Janice,
I read your reply to Tim and was wondering about the lens used myself but now I know.I like the way this photo looks with the clean and square looking breaks in the foreground rock(s).That 30D is an excellent camera if you ask me and since I have got one myself,my rebel is not used so much.Your pov is something to behold as it does make this photo look fisheyed, but that is what makes it great.Good colour, focus and details are the rule of the day for this one.Tfs. Bob
