A small, stocky wading bird, the Green Heron is common in wet spots across much of North America. It can be difficult to see as it stands motionless waiting for small fish to approach within striking range, but it frequently announces its presence by its loud squawking.

Wonderful shot. Love the yellow eye and the opened beak. He shows up so well against the background.

Hello Elton,
Fine sharp close-up portrait of the Green Heron. Good BG too. Placing the subject a little to the right might have made this shot even better.

Lovely portrait shot, I like the pose where you have captured the heron with his beak a little open, the feather detail is nice and sharp and the colours are lovely and natural with a great BG that compliments the image perfectly.

Muy buen primer plano Elton de esta vistosa ave.
Excelentes detalles y colores del plumaje, ojo y pico del animal con perfecto trasfondo, excepto por las 2 pequeñas manchas claras abajo a la derecha.
Me atreví a realizar un Workshop eliminando dichas manchas.
Buen trabajo.

Very close up Elton of this showy bird.
Excellent details and colors of the plumage, eye and beak of the animal with perfect background, except for 2 small stains clear below to the right.
I dared to realize a Workshop eliminating this stains.

this heron looks wonderful. Excellent POV and great pose. The beautiful neutral BG shows this bird off very well. Nice sharpness and excellent details.
