Some time ago, after Luc had posted his photo of a Wild Turkey (see Luc’s photo), there were some discussions about the ugliness vs. beauty of this bird.

I thought that it might be interesting to try to showing that people might find some beauty if they take time do look a bit closer at an animal considered as “ugly” by some. That’s what I tried to do with that close-up of the same bird that Luc captured, at the Ecomuseum, showing the pattern and colors of the turkey’s plumage.

For a male Wild Turkey, a female Wild Turkey is absolutely beautiful during the mating season. “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder”, as the saying goes.

P.S. Benjamin Franklin had recommended the Wild Turkey as the USA’s national emblem as he thought the Bald Eagle was a poor choice because it sometimes steals food from other birds.

Salut Serge.

Well Serge, it is good to see "the beauty of the plumage of the Wild Turkey." (Quoting Luc)This is an amazing shot and I compliment you. Well done.

Very nice idea you had showing Luc´s bird from another point of view, nice follow up. I love textures, and this is a beautiful one. There is a phrase in spanish that says: "The beauty is is the eyes of the person who is looking". Nice note :)
PTS tomorrows, I am poor.
