An African Elephant from the Toronto Zoo eyeing me through the tree.

I know B/W is not well received here at Trek N. However, I'm hoping that many will have a liking to this medium which in it's own right shows more detail, depth, tones etc.

Just sharing one while I have a break. Cheers.

Mike

Hi Mike,
Great! I really like the POV. Good use of the plant in the foreground making the elephant peer through it. Wonderful eye contact. Nice focus and DOF. Good use of B&W, it works well with this photo. I am also interested to see what the colour version looks like.

Hi Mike
Very interesting photo. We can see the elephant wrinkles and sad eye. Graet composition
Thanks
Krzysztof

HI Mike,

Hi Mike,

Indeed not so common on TN,but I think this a great B/W portrait, well composed and captured, think I will have to give it a try as well to shoot in B/W,

TFS,

Paul

Hi Mike,
Very creative work IMHO. An excellent compostion with the B&W very effective here. It brings out all the textures, tones, and details that only this medium can :)
Very well done. Excellent!

I like B&W, but I have also posted shots around on other sites and have found that folks do not prefer their animals in B&W. I wonder why, as you stated, the detail show up so much better. Nice shot.

Greg

Hi Mike! B&W so fitting--not only detail, but the sadness in it's eye reflects the stresses of the whole elephant world! Marvellous! Linda

Hi Mike, nice shot. I like the "essence" of elephant here - it works well. Good composition and the B&W suits this well. Well done!

I emailed you a couple of days back, did you get it?

Hi Mike,
This one stands out in your gallery. Probably because its the only B/W I see. I really like the composition. A little bit of a I spy you kinda photo. Some of the lighter spots are a bit to bright to my tast, but the overall quality is superb.
TFS,
Niek
