[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Writing on Stone Provincial Park, Just north of the US/Canada border is a large section of prairie protected by the Alberta park system. Writing on Stone is a nature preserve that also protects a large number of Indian rock carvings and paintings. It has been nominated by Parks Canada and the Government of Canada as a World Heritage Site (Source).

Yes, now you are using that lens to full advantage...close, very sharp detail and tremendous DOF. I have to start using mine. It's kind of hard to find the right scene sometimes. Nice work

A very beautiful landscape scene. Very well composed and framed. You did a good job with the exposure to keep all the detail in the highlights and much of the shadow areas. nice one!

You have some great scenery in your homeland Mike. Just love the look of this location. The geology looks amazing, despite the harsh light you handled the exposure very well. Composition is good although I may have looked for a different or lower POV to make the balance of rocks on each side a little more uneven...God I know that's going to confuse you. Ahh maybe a column of rock just breaking the horizon etc. Just me being nit-picky, Very good job mf.

Hi Mike,
I looked at the photo several times and then I saw Steve's critique and then understood what my difficulty was with this photo. The high POV makes the entire photo too flat. Besides that, the view and the shapes of the rock are spectacular. I find the light a tad too harsh, but well controled.

I read Steve's & Niek's comments, and agree that you might've pulled more interest changing your perspective here..and it's all about one's perspective, is it not? :)
