[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A Kingfisher (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingfisher) at the Montreal Botanical Garden (occasional visitor). It's the third time I see it, but each time, it was too away from me. But this time, I had the oportunity to take it, but stil had to crop more then half of the picture.
It's a beautiful bird and a good flyer.

Un Martin pêcheur (http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_p%C3%AAcheur) pris au Jardin Botanique de Montréal (visiteur occasionnel). C'est la troisièeme fois que je le voyais, mais à chaque fois, il était trop loin. Il est plutôt farouche, donc pas facile à approcher pour prendre en photo. J'ai eu la chance d'en voir un pas trop loin. La photo est recadré en retranchant des 4 côtés pour garder environ la moitié de la photo.
C'est un bel oiseau avec un vol rapide et plutôt acrobatique. Il peut, en vol, faire du sur-place pendant quelques secondes et foncer sur une proie qu'il a aperçu dans l'eau (poisson et grenouille).

A great shot and very interesting and beautiful subject;) I guess this bird is hatched in winter time because in russian its name means "born in winter". I tried to add some brightness and contrast in workshop. Think it should be a little bit brighter.

Hi Francois.

What a handsome kingfisher is that.Though it's been taken from a considerable distance the image looks neat.I'd prefer to crop it a little bit from the bottom I suppose also I agree with Siarhei about the brightness and contrast of the photo.The workshopped version completes the deficiencies.

Third time lucky! This is a good capture and it is difficult to get just the right sharpness when there are so many twigs in the way. Nice comp.
