The weather was still nice out in these parts, so we made our way up into the alpine once agian in search of fall colour and general photo ops.
I ran across this interesting snag which reminded ome of a snake. The mountian in the background is Coquihalla Mtn; from where I have posted pictures of in the past.
The whole photo is fairly in focus, but looking upon it now I should have went with an even smaller aperture for more depth of field. Ah well, I wanted the snag to be the focal point anyway.
I used a bit of the "burn brush" to further darken and enhance the features of the clouds for a bit more of a brooding mood.

Es un paisaje precioso, y además nos regalas ese p.p. de árbol que parece una serpiente. Enhorabuena y saludos,

Hi Tim,
You managed this one very well. I like the dramatic skies, they look dark and suit the coming winter.
Also I like the choise of apparture - making the subject sharp and the BG a bit Blurred.

Hi Tim!
You got here a drammatic scene.
Very nice the light on the snag.
And also the green stuff on it.

Thanks, Enrico.

Bravo and TFS!

Hi Tim,

Good composition. Like you said, the focal point of this picture is the snag. Nice title. The BG does not have to be as sharp. We can still see good details of the surrounding mountains and valley. Nice work in PP of the clouds. It does help to give a nice mood to the picture. Good shadows and contrast. Nice job.

PC :)

I like your dramatic image Tim. That is an interesting old snag and the light on it is wonderful. Nice PP work too.

I can hear National Geographic dialing your number for this shot Tim.
Excellent composition, the yellow lichens growing on the knurled wood is a nice contrast to the darker background colours. A gorgeous shot!

Hi Tim,
I particualarly like the way shines on the snag. It illuminates it perfectly. I think you got the right aperture making the BG still visable but slightly softer. I love the overall colors and the great clarity.

Niek
