[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Here's another look at the quiet season. This shot was taken at Vermillion Lakes in Banff. There is some early season snow on the mountains. But it will only be a couple of weeks before the snow blankets this land for the season.

PP: A noise filter, color adjustment, grad filter, resize, frame, and slight unsarp mask.

Hello Mike

Awesome colours.I think it is the contrast of the very blue at the top an the oranges of the grasses that strike my eye the most. After that they settle on the amazing snow capped mountains.Lovely composition with a very good POV.TFS

I so want to be there!

This is a lovely shot with nicely saturated colours. I guess that is the colour adjustment in PP although the polariser will have helped. A beautiful scene well taken TFS - Phil

Hi Mike

This is a beautiful landscape! Nice reflection, great effect from the polariser seeing the bottom of the lake through the water. Great colours. Nice to view. TFS.

Mike,

Captivating. The framing,DOF,POV and wow the colors. I wouldn't have changed a thing.

Hi there Mike,

I have been there too, but the weather was too cloudy then to take any good spots. That's why I really appreciate this picture. The clear water, blue sky and magnificent Rockies make a very nice picture. I like the way you framed it on the left and right side, with the partial visible hills. The snowcapped mountaintops and the clouds in the left look a little oe. Well done & TFS!

Regards,
Pieter

what a great picture of a lovely area and snow on the tops as well.

Just wishing I could be out there instead of sitting next to all these computers needing rebuilding....

I know that I critiqued this photo yesterday...but where did it go??? I must have done something wrong...again : P

I REALLY have to start using that lens! What amazing DOF at only f6.3. I sure wish we had been at Banff in the "quiet season"... Man oh man, that is a popular park!

I don't think the OE is too much. I would just crop off the left side bit and maybe tone down the brightness a little. See workshop. Just cropping out the part on the left makes a big difference.

Hi Mike,
A really stunning image with excellent use if the UWA lens. Giving us a really good impression of the area. I really like the contrast between the dried gass and the blue lake. Great clarity and details throughout the scenery, especially the details in the farr mountains on the left. I ahve to agree with Pieter on the OE spots. I think that with a merge of two exposures, this problem would have been solved. I am not sure if you shoot in RAW, so not sure if that is an option at all.
TFS,
Niek

I am now seeing it on a better monitor, and the snow looks actually OK. So disregard the OE part

:) tomorrow

Hi Mike,

A good POV of Vermillion lake and of the mountains, the photo has a good composition, DOF and nice colors. Thanks for sharing.
