This is Vermillion Lakes in Banff. I'm prety sure this is the First Vermillion lake. This view is looking back in the direction of town in the late morning light.

f/6.3? I don't know what happened to my normal AP f/11 for landscapes (unless there is a very strong foreground in which case I try to see how close I can get to f/22).

PP: A noise filter, color adjustment, resize, frame, and unsharp mask.

Hi Mike,
ANother great picture from your series of fall pictures. :) Good range. I think u can start a theme! :) Or maybe u have already!
Well i love the colors of brown and blue. Very sharp and clean. It's sometimes sad the see the trees shed and turn brown awaiting the cold winter. :) Yet they still make good pictures :)

The light is just gorgeous, Mike.
The golden grasses give a strong contrast to the blues of sky and water.
Beautiful scene well captured.
It looks so serene.

Hi Mike,
Excellent use of foreground in this beautiful landscapeshot. With that lens even at f6.3 you have great DOF. Great light has created beautiful colors and tones. A very nice one!

and another great landscape picture with wonderful blues adn great golds in it...

couple of minor nits, I kind of feel tha the horizon is off slightly (it might be an optical illusion) and the green pines and the mountain could do with a touch of burning to lighten them... but I like it none the less.

Hi Mike!
The foreground in particular has come out very well in this landscape.
The color of withered grass presents a nice contrast with water, trees and sky.
Thanks and have a nice weekend.

Hi Mike,
Well Emma said it all. So what is for me to add then that I really like the scenery and the composition.

Hi Mike,
This is definitely a very calm and surreal place. Great wide angle view and DOF. The water looks crystal clear. Well captured!

I think this is a case when the polarizer effect is just a little too strong. That unevenness in the sky is a result of using a polarizer on a very wide angle lens in the horizontal position. I read that it is best, if one wants to use a polarizer with a wide angle lens then chose a vertical orientation. It has to to with the natural variation in the sky from the light source out. It gets overexaggerated with a polarizer. I suppose one could rotate it a little off of full effect. I haven't experimented at all with it though I have the same lens and a polarizer that fits it.

Other than that I really like your composition and the interesting foreground.

Hi Mike,

A good POV of Vermillion lake and of the canadian Rockies mountains, the photo has a good composition, DOF and nice colors. Thanks for sharing.
