[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is another shot of Vermillion Lake in Banff. (Yes, I was back in Banff again this weekend. Oh, it's a tough life!) Here's another shot at a Steve (signal-womb)-like shot. In composing the shot I was trying to engage foreground (rock), middle ground (lake) and background (moutain and clouds) in equal parts, just like the Irish master. Unfortunately I was only shooting with at 18mm (I was shooting my 10mm last weekend, so I just changed it for variety).

PP: Some cloning (sensor dust), a contrast adjustment, resize, and frame.

Well, I'd say you did a pretty good job Mike. I think the polarizer effect is better here. I'm jealous of your tough life!

Evelynn : )

Hi Mike,
Beautiful! Very well composed and framed. Colors, detail, and DOF, all look great. I would say you got the balance right!

Mike

Great view - wish I was there, instead of sitting at home on a week's leave with a bad foot unable to walk and get out....

I've had a little play with your picture - hope you don't mind (I only play with the ones I like!) to try to even out the highlights and shadows in certain points. The foreground rocks just sems a little to bright and almost burnt out on my screen (guessing it was very sunny whilst you were out), and an unsharp mask...

hope you like it.

Emma

Mike,
You've done it again.
Great landscape
I like how the golden brown grass gives such contrast to the blue water.

Nice job

Hi Mike!
I really like the composition! The balance between fore-middle-back-ground is almost perfect... Maybe only a bit too contrast between foreground and background. I think the exposimeter was a bit tricked by the sun on the rock in foreground.
However, a great shot.
Thanks!! Enrico

Mike,
Yeah, yeah a tough life. No pitty what so ever! :)

Great shot of a stunning area. I like the thought behind the composition, and I think it work. The leadline is there and the layers are perfect.
