[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The baboon is among the largest of the old world monkeys. They are a ground dwelling monkeys that live in troops of as many as 50 in the wild. The herd at the African Lions Safari is equally as large.
Baboons are ground-dwelling animals and, unlike tree-living monkeys,have arms and legs of about the same length. The don't mind a car ride either and might hitch a ride on the car top.
Females typically give birth every other year, usually to a single infant, after a six month gestation. The young baboon weighs approximately one kilogram and is colored black. The females tend to be the primary caretaker of the young, although several females will share the duties for all of their offspring.


Photo taken at the African Lion Safari park in southern Ontario.
Most of my pictures are taken through the closed car window for safty reason.

très belle photo d' une maman qui trasporte son petit,pendant un temp,certaine maman portait les enfants de cette façon,pour le contact et la vue de l' enfant qui ainsi voyait sa mère au réveil. Thomas
