"Baked Potato."

At the feet of this summit of 2270M. you are looking at, is Mirror Lake; now, rather dried up.

Please see workshop to note this sorry sight;an almost waterless "lake". We, MAN, are
going to DESTROY this, our ONLY HOME we have.

Lake Louise Area is a very popular site for hikers. Three of the most scenic locations at Lake Louise are included in this circuit.

This hike route will take you to the rich bluegreen of Lake Agnes and before you get to it, just about halfway, you will see Mirror Lake. (PLEASE SEE WORKSHOP.) Right before your eyes is the Big Beehive at this junction. ( I call it a "Baked Potato")
The path to the right leads you to both Lake Agnes & Little Beehive. From Lake Agnes one could carry on for another 4 hours ( for me ) to reach the summit of the Big Beehive.

Ground squirrels, marmots, chipmunks, pikas, Clark’s nutcrackers and Grey Jays and sometimes Bears also frequent this route.

Lake Agnes is surrounded by steep cliffs.

Both the Beehives are low summits. However, they both provide outstandings views; and, their slopes are covered with superb specimens of alpine larch.

quiet a beautiful photo and sad story as well, happening all over our planet , here too..our lakes loose water every year..
TFS the notes and the photos.. Donna:o)

I appreciate your note and sentiments. The color in this image seems somehow undersaturated.

Hi Aires,
It does indeed look like a baked potato standing on its end.

Quite interesting! I appreciate you sharing the workshop picture of mirror lake. I did a quick search, but didn't find anything signifigant on the cause of the lake drying up and being polluted. The water still looks clear, but I know that is no indication of pure. If any viewers know of any links regarding mirror lake and its current condition, I'd appreciate you posting them.

Thanks for sharing,

Dave

Hello Mario,
The contrast between the framing trees and the rock is very eye-catching!
Well composed image with good details, and most of all a very interesting subject!
I did look at the lake in the WS and I agree it does not look good, sad thing!

Hi Aires.
You have shared a very nice landscape picture. The idea to present the mountain through the trees is perfect. Very good combination of lights and darks. Framing and composition are nice too. TFS and my best wishes.
Alexei.

Hi friend!
Increadibly peaceful and calm picture!
Fantastic colours thanks to a very good choice of time to shot it!
Good POV, sharpness too! Take care ana:)

Hi Mario,
What an odd shaped mountian. It really stands out from its surrounding area. I like the way you used the trees to frame the potato. I also appreciate the two bonus photos and all notes with the three photos.
TFS;
Niek
