[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This was taken on the mountain of Mont Saint-Hilaire. Here is a little notes about Chipmunk's habitat :

"The Chipmunk is a ground dwelling mammal, digging tunnels or burrows, about two inches in diameter. The entrance to the tunnel system is next to a solid object, such as a tree stump, large rock, or post. Secondary exits are often in open areas, and there are no dirt piles around the hole. This makes it difficult for predators to find. The chipmunk digs with its front paws, which have four sharp claws on each. The dirt is push to the surface, and then carried away in the animals cheeks. The tunnel system can be as long as thirty feet in length, with several interconnecting passages. Tunnels are normally two to three feet below ground, this depth varies with weather conditions. Most burrows have several sleeping areas, as well as food storage areas. The sleeping area, or nest is enlarged and filled shredded leaves to make a comfortable bed. Food is normally stored in the lowest tunnels, to keep it cool, and fresh."

Hello Claudine

Chipmunk perfection. This is beautiful. The DOF is amazing, excellent POV.The details are razor sharp and the lighting is soft and natural.I like the pose you have captured,it really shows off the markings and tail. The natural setting helps make the wonderful composition.Well done.TFS

Rob

Nicely done Claudine. Good color and nice details. I like the location, good camera angle. Good bokeh in the eye. Minor nit would be the missing front feet, but the chipmunk chose the location. You just have to bribe him/her a bit to move for you!

nice shot,
well composed, lovely colours,

Hi Claudine.
How I like your delicate brown colour tones. They are very pleasant to eye and decorate the picture very well. Richness of content (a lot of beautiful objects into your picture), perfect composition and amazing captured scene. I like the great details and sufficient sharpness of the squirrel. Bravo and my best regards.

This chipmunk looks quite similar to a squirrel?? But I note the difference and the fact that they live in the ground and not the trees like a squirrel.
Cute capture Claudine. Very sharp and clear. I feel your photos are improving immensely. Well done,
Janice

bel écureuil, bien net, belle couleurs. Thomas

Bonsoir Claudine,
Ce que j'admire dans cette photo, c'est:
Les couleurs ont un beau rendu,
la construction avec la diagonale formée par l'écureuil,
et la trace de lumière dans l'oeil.

Bonjour Claudine,
Very cute little chipmunk. I guess that why people use this small mammal as main actor in cartoon movies. Great sharpness and neat BG. Beautiful natural colors.
Superb shot.

Lovely picture of this chipmunk - its very clear, and the setting is very natural. As you once mentioned, we seem to take many pictures of the same birds and animals, and this one is one of the best of this species I've seen!

Great shot. POV and DOF is spot on. Looks amazingly good for 800 ISO...
