Here these Female Mallard ducks decided to look for some food closer to the camp. They came all the way up from the dock.
The female Mallard duck is a dull brown colour with a bit of colour on her wings. She is coloured like this to help in hiding her while she is on her nest. The Immature males are the same colours as the females. The Male Mallard duck is beautiful. He has an Emerald green head and grey/blue feathers.(I have only females & immature males here)
