[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The water here seems to be in a big hurry rushing through the narrow gorge. The force of the Athabasca River is funnelled into a narrow canyon cut in very hard, quartz-rich sandstone rock. Originally, the river cascaded over these cliffs but erosion has gradually moved the falls upstream to their present position. The water originates from the Columbia icefields and glaciers.

Great capture Julie - wish we had some here in Denmark where a waterfall is high when it reach 1 m;-). The people in the upper right corner really gives an impression of the hight of the fall. I like the furiousity in such pictures - really shows the power of nature. Very good job and tfs.

Jasper NP! I will be going there in September this year. :) What a great picture, this makes me wanna go even more. I agree that it's a good thing you left the people in the picture, so we can get an idea of the height of the cascade.

Hi Julie,
This is a truly dynamic shot. I can almost hear the roar and the hiss of the water. There are marvellous colours throughout this picture, wonderful clarity of detail and I congratulate you on your superb effort. Well done
