Black-Capped Chickadee
Parus atricapillus

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Description - This small bird can be identified by its black cap and bib and white cheeks. The back is grey with white underparts; the wings are edged with white. Their characteristic call is a buzzy "chick-a-dee-dee-dee".

Distribution - The black-capped chickadee ranges throughout all of Canada. They inhabit deciduous and mixed forests and open woodlands, often wintering in suburban areas.

Biology - The black-capped chickadee feeds on insects, seeds and berries. They prepare their nest with grass, fur, plant down, feathers and moss in a hole in a rotten tree stump, a natural cavity or a bird box. This bird is constantly active, either hopping, clinging or hanging from tree branches.

Hi Jeanpaul,
Nice bird and its lunch. The seed and feathers are sharp and the dof is good. It is a shame that the birds head is not slightly turned but thats out of your control. Nice job anyway.
Regards
Matt.

Hello JP,
nice pose of your small subject!
Excellent light and details, overall.

I wonder it is looking at.
It seems to be engrossed in what it is looking at.
Nice POV, though can't see face. But doesn't matter. Leave it to me to imagine.
Good details, compo and DOP

Bonjour Jeanpaul,
Great DoF, sharp and neat BG. Well composed picture. Nicely framed. Well, this may not be the best pose of this chickadee, but other technical aspects are great.
Nice shot.

Salut JP,
I had to look twice to see what was in the beak of the bird. A beautiful capture with a stunning soft OOF BG and excellent colors and light. Maybe a little more room on the bottom would help.
TFS,
Niek
