Size:
Total Length:37~52mm,
Abdomen: 30~44mm,
Hindwing: 20~25mm.
Description:
A very long, skinny spreadwing, usually with very limited pruinesence (or none at all) on the tip of the abdomen.
Flight Season:
May ~ Oct.
Habitat:
Lakes or ponds with regular shade and dense emergent vegetation; often found in bays and sand-bottomed lakes.
The Slender Spreadwing (Lestes rectangularis) is widespread across the eastern and central U.S., south to the Texas Panhandle. Its very long, slender abdomen is a useful field character.

Great damselfly photo and nice note. The exposure, colors and detail are outstanding. Very nice POV with excellent DOF and nice neutral green background.
Very attractive slim species, I imagine this one was difficult to take.

This is such a splendid work! They way you managed to capture all the features of this beautiful damselfly is great!
The POV is excellent and the shallow DOF impressive. Then, the colors and tones of both the subject and the BG are fantastic and the details are super clean and sharp.
