Tuk-Tuk: the Woodland Caribou II
Rangifer tarandus caribou

He is the same individual as I presented to you here.

It was a cloudy day today. Cloudy but not cold. Around 0 celsius. I spent the day at Ecomuseum.
It is the sixth time which I returns there. I left from my home at 7 am and I returned at 5 pm. I took 328 photos and I present you the best, I believe.
The first times I went there, I photograped anything no matter how. Today I have choose 3 subjects and I spent the day with them.
As Callie says, we must know our subjects and for that we must spent time with them. It can seem ridiculous but I began to speak to them.
I have even to sing to draw the attention of a lynx ;-)
In this place animals live in enclosures: of very big for wolves, bears, caribous, etc., and smallest for the foxes, the otters, etc.
There is also an immense aviary where live about twenty sorts of ducks.
Ok, enough writing for this evening. I am tired and I leave you together with Tuk-Tuk.
I hope you like him.

I have used a monopod all day long. Its really help to take sharper shots. It is Gert who gave me this advice for my little Canon S1 IS.
The BG was today's sky. I only croped the photo, added a little sharpen, framed it and save.

This guy should be pulling a Christmas sleigh full of goodies for the children of the world. He is a beautiful speciman. Great work Luc. Love the presentation.

Maybe the BG is little to bright.

Very nice shot Luc. Great details with nice colors and sharpness. I liked the background very much. Very nice note too. Let me ask you just one thing. What are you talking about with this beautiful animal? :) Good job Luc.

Congratulations

Alexandre

Luc, I'm dazzled by the light! An unusual shot for its level of brightness..Unique! Great sharpness & details seen in your subject..great set of antlers! Talking to the animals hey? Do I see a starring role for you in the next "Dr. Doolittle" sequel??? ;-))))

Another great shot Luc,
Nice composition. The detail is superb, very clean and sharp.
Thanks for posting.

Hi Luc, maybe the BG is a little too bright for my taste but apart from that it's a fantastic composition with an interesting POV. Well done.

The 1.6 adaptor does not seem to lessen the quality of the image. With 10X zoom on your camera this will give you a great magnification range.
What I don't understand about this image is how you got the colour of the caribou to be well exposed on a white background. There is no burn-out on the fur???.
Anyway agreat mug shot of this fellow, very impressive.

It's a great idea. I always rush through such a place myself. Trying to a shot or two of everything. I think I will take my time and choose three subjects the next time I go. Lovely shot, Luc. it setts off nicely against the snowy BG. Well done.
