This black bear was capture eating saskatoons in Waterton Lakes National Park, Black Bears will consume up to 20,000 calores per day in an effort to fatten up for winter. During thier big sleep they may lose between 20-40% of thier body weight. Thier diet consists of 95% vegetable matter, so these Saskatoons are vital to thier weight gain.
