Good Morning, Afernoon or Evening my Trek Friends..:o)
Today I present to you an image I saw yesterday, one that I have experienced many times and I find really intersting. A big flock of Canadian geese "riding it out" Now they weren't out there during the big storm we had in the beginning of the month , they fly inland for such things. But this was a wind of about 15 to 20 knots from the southwest and they were out there for hours paddling and going nowhere...:o) I don't really understand why they do this as it would be much easy to sit ashore but I guess maybe they find its safer on the water? There also was a flock of ducks further out , much further then my lens could see.

This is my last posting for awhile, tonight I will drive to the St. Clair River ( which joins Lake Huron with Lake Erie) where I will be joining my Husband on his ship for the Holidays. Not sure when I'll be returning but sure not til after the New Year. I will of course be bringing my camera for new photo ops! I wish you all the best of Holidays and stay safe and take lots of photos for me to look at when I return!

Thanks for viewing my gallery and for your comments on my photos..:o)

Hi Donna,
Wonderful image...
Maybe cropping the air part would have strengthen the compo.
Doesn't matter...
Well done!

First your capture is great, I like the composition, focus and subject very much. Secondly sail safe and have a great and safe holiday season, I'm looking forward to your photos of adventures on your return.

Amicalement Thomas

Hi Donna, I like it. This is a good effect. I like seeing lots of one thing. It's personal taste but you could have achieved a very different effect if you cropped of the sky. It would have created a feeling of endless sea with the birds stuggling through. Well done.

Hi Donna,
Interesting activity you've captured here...;-)
I like it! I've scrolled up and down cropping out the sky just to see the effect, and I guess I have mixed feelings.
I was studing a video on composition and you handled it exactly the way they recommended. The one thing they said you didn't want to do was split the sky and what was below it evenly.
Good job!
TFS,
Dave

Hi Doona,
these geese don't to be bothered by the rough sea, I would need some gravol ;-). Very well captured, love the depth in this photo and the wonderful textures.

Wow! Those are great, so well captured when they are crusing the rugged waves...
Beautiful composition, great light and fine details in this original image!
