| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
“Another cold day” is the name of this photograph and it shows some buds patiently waiting for spring. Yesterday we had freezing rain and I took some shots afterwards. It is only February and these buds are used to the cold unlike me.
Evergreen trees like spruce and fir are supposed to be used to the freezing climate around here.
This photograph was level adjusted, Sharpened in lab color U.S. M. 100, 1, 0, and saved for the web. |

Oh yes, a cold day indeed Jim and a grey day too with very soft colours. Very nice picture with nice dof and details in the front of the picture. I like the calm atmosphere and the soft colours.
Looks like Abies glauca a form of blue fur, it is well seen on such an overcast day. The cones are falling apart in a typical fur way leaving thie middle spike on the tree. here looking forward to sunnier days TFS

Stunning image really giving the feeling of Brrrr Very cold. Good work, nice detail
Hello Jim! If it wasn't snow for you, it was ice, eh? I really like this photograph, the ice encapsulating the leaves and cones, the frozen drip, the crystal nature of the sleety snow. Colours are wonderfully natural. You've done a great composition here!
