Hi Mike

First, thanks for the New Year wishes. The same to you and your loved ones. I hope you have a wonderful 2007.

This coot with the ‘white hot or not bill’ was very well captured. You reproduced some excellent contrasts and tones on that black/grey plumage. The vertical composition work well to include the double-headed reflection. The colours are great including that beautiful red eye, the details are well defined, and the exposure was well controlled as you even managed to gain some penetration into the shiny water surface.

Great shot, superb composition and a great pose, I like the double reflection caused by the ripple, excellent details and great colours, the red eye is perfect, nice lighting too.

Hi Mike it's an interesting looking coot will have to upload some some shots of the britsh ones I've got loads, Yeah beak is overexposed but I see the detail in the reflection! they are difficult to get right especially in bright sunlight. Nice detail in the feathers and sharp eye. Happy new yr rgds Necip.

Hi Mike,
I'm having a hard time capturing those birds, their black feathers are very difficult to get into good detail. This shot is very nice, and very well composed.

They look like the Coots we have here in France, I see mqany of them but they are so shy I never got any good picture... But you managed to get a wonderful shot ! Excellent details, wonderfdul composition, natural colors, and a beautiful reflection on the water. Very well done !
