Hi Rick,
What a stunning view. I've only seen it by daylight last summer, but this winter dusk scene is just awesome. I love the fact that there is still some sunlight hitting the top of the mountains, giving it the full attention. Excellent work on the exposure and the details.
TFS,
Niek

Hi Rick
excellent night time shot, this place just looks fantastic. The lake really draws the eye into those faint peaks in the b/g.
all the best to you and your family for 2007.
Cheers,
Paul

"And the fox went out on a moonlit night..."
You old fox YOU! Took yer tripod eh!
That makes at least five legs you had to work with!
Love that solitary star high in the sky. Where oh where was the moon? For it surely was clear! < And crisp? >
Great to see another landscape from you Rick! TFS
I have attemted two workshops; what do you think?

A beautiful scene indeed Rick. The timing on the lighting is very good. I'm torn about the city lights being there, as to me it detracts from the peace and serenity of a wilderness landscape. There also seems ot be a star or a hot pixel in the top of your photo which could easily be cloned out.

Hi Rick,
Nice shot, I would have cropped the bottom just below the trees round the lake. Well done,

What ...no wind??? I guess it calms down at night. I don't know if I've ever been to a windier place.
This is a great shot, Rick. I love the glow on the mountains. This is a lovely sharp photo. I have to start being more creative with photography. I've never tried a long exposure like this. I have basically the same equipment as you...so why haven't I got a neat image like this?? : )
I think I prefer the more subtle color and light in your original image than in the workshops.

Hello Rick,
magnificent depth, and perfectly reported blue shadows of dusk, with stars appearing on the sky.
Wonderful document of silence and peace.
Thank you, and best regards,
Peter

Wow, well done tripod shot, Rick. Stunning, and great exposure. But this is moonlit, isn't it? I was looking at the shot, wondering about the light, then I looked at Niek's review and figured it out. Remarkable!
