Wonderful shot of this lovely Cardinal, very nice composition and a great POV, the details are nice and sharp, that colours are superb, the vivid Red of the Cardinal stands out so well from the BG.

Very nice color to brighten up my day. I'm not sure we will even have snow this year - it's been very warm. He looks comfortable scrunched up on the branch. The shot is well composed and DOF is excellent.

Hi Mario,
Great capture. The contrast between the bright red feathers and the comparably stark monochrome surrounds makes the image pop. Good composition and exposure...the use of the flash is subtle and adds well to the ambient light and also gives a catchlight for that eye.

A beautiful portrait of this cardinal. The plummage is even more lovely as it constrasts so strongly with the grey tones of a Winter scene. Well done.

I'm curious as to how much you cropped this image and still maintained such good sharpness. How far would you say you were from the subject. It is a great shot!! Also do you know how a 1.4extender works with that lens? Is it any better than taking the shot without the extender and enlarging (cropping) it?

i wish we had cardinals in Oregon. I love them.

Hi Mario, what a brilliant red this fellow it. To me the white glint in his eye looks a bit unusual though, bacause I can see a lighter glint just above the white one. The red contrasts well against the BG, TFS

Qu'elle beauté! J'adore les Cardinaux! C'est drôle, mon frère m'achale tout le temps pour que j'aille avec lui faire des photos au Boisé Papineau :-) Je n'y suis jamais allé car normalement, les sujets sont dans ma cours et je trouve que Laval ça fait loin pour aller faire des photos ;)

C'est une photo superbe avec d'excellent détails, une belle prise de vue, luminosité et composition. J'aime bien le petit éclat dans son oeil; bravo!

Beautiful and aesthetics capture Mario with a mixture of colors and contrasts, almost as if the bottom of the scene was in B&W.
I like the combination between the point of view and the elected framing with appropriate uncentered and great sharpness and focus.
