Stormclouds at Daybreak
 |

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
I really was due to post a small critter, a wildflower or some combo of same...But then Rick asked for "STORMCLOUDS"...
Since I have excellent connections with the weather service in the Maritimes there was but one problem: getting up early! Here I was at 7:15 AM already photographing pre-dawn stormclouds. However, later on I found much better colour, as the sun rays were being blocked by alternating layers of clouds. The "window" seen in this shot lasted less than a minute as the clouds were flying by at quite a clip.
This one was my pick out of a bunch of shots. Any guesses why? Jay
Photo shot at 08:38AM. Scaled to 30% for TN; trimmed 54 pixels total on left and right to meet 800 pixels.
Captioned with JPeG quality at 98, then posted. |

Hi Jay,
Superb composition of this very nice scene, since it's in Sambro Harbour. Sun rays through the clouds and trees in the foreground are my favorite. You even have a gull in the photo, thus your small critter, lol. Thanks Jay

Hello Jay,
I like exposure in this picture; you had good control over it. Nice POV and composition too with this flying bird. You caught this shot in a good timing. Well done with beautiful colors! Thanks,
Claudine
GREAT early morning shot!!
I love the sun/cloud interaction in this photo, and your composition of the elements that make up the shot, ie, trees, clouds, sun, AND, a GULL in a strategic position!!
GOOD job on this one!!
