Hi Helene,
An excellent frame filling portrait composition of this Red-breasted Nuthatch. The light and exposure were really good here. Beautiful subtle colors and tack sharp detail. The eye has great detail to show the surroundings captured in it's reflection. Nice OOF backround.

Wow! C'est un superbe portrait de cette sitelle à poitrine rousse. Je n'en ai jamais vu ici encore, seulement les blanches. Les détails sont vraiment superbes ainsi que cette prise de vue et composition. Cette petite lumière dans son œil est magnifique et j'aime bien la pose qu'elle te donne ainsi que cet éclairage naturel. C'est vraiment bien fait! J'ai fais le tour de ta galerie hier et je dois dire que j'étais bien impressionnée. Je manque toujours de points sur ce site mais j'aurais pu facilement commenter toutes tes photos les unes après les autres de façon très élogieuse, elles sont superbes! Bravo!

What an amazing close-up of this cute, little Nuthatch. How for the world do you manage to get this close to the birds? I've been trying for days to get close to some finches and didn't succeede. Although you used a 300mm lense, I think you were very close to the bird in order to take this perfect close-up. On the composition you did very well. Placing the portrait of the bird in one of the strongest points of the picture is a guarantee your photo is a great success. The OOF background compliments the shot and makes the subject stand out perfectly. Nice eye contact too! It allows the viewer to estabilish a relationship with the bird. Exposure is also perfect! No overexposed or underexposed areas in your picture and excellent details in the shadows and in the dark feathers are an asset! Sharpness is spot-on thanks to a well controlled DOF, showing great details in the bird's plumage. Your photo is technically and artistically flawless and the informative note completes your posting. Congratulations on this work of art and TFS!
