| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| Although not the best picture that I have taken, it is a first. The lighting was terrible and I didn't have time to meter properly let alone focus and yet I was able to get four pics of this little bird.At first I thought it was a bumblebee when I finally saw it for what it was, I had ran out of time,my vision isn't the best in dull light. This little bird is the very first one of these that I have ever seen here in Alberta and I'm lucky on this day I had my camera with me.Less than a minute later there was a second hummingbird in an area where the lighting was better but as I tried to focus on it,it was attacked by a blue jay and driven off.I spent several days in vain in this area for another chance but to no avail, maybe this year I'll get the good shot. This picture has been cropped, sharpen and darken using Paint.Net. Hi Bob,
Not the best photo technically, but I have worked in low light alot and know the problems. I have a suggestion for you if you want some hummingbird pictures. Go west of Pincher Creek past the Beaver Mines Lake turn off toward Westcastle Ski hill there are quite a few hummingbirds in that area.

Hi Bob,
I know that feeling when you get something for the first time! It's pretty cool! This composition looks really good. Too bad it didn't come out as sharp as we'd like, but still very much worth sharing! Thank you Bob!
TFS,
Dave
Bob,
It may be the first; and you say "not the best.."; but,
as far as I'm concerned IT IS THE BEST of the BEST.
Do you know why it is that good for me?
It is the 'EFFORT' that counts. You, my co-Albertan friend, are going to do exremely well with your hobby.
You are 'trying', making a sincere effort to bring to the fore THE BEST you have to offer. It will get better.
Take Adanac's suggestion to heart; success awaits you.
Best regards, Mario.
