This is the north side of Mount Wintour.

Yesterday post was the southwest view of Mt. Wintour, this side looks like a whole new mountain. I captured this in the fall with the sun lower in the sky. I love the Opal Mountain Range in Kananaskis with all it's shadows, crevices and steep slopes.

Captain Wintour who the mountain was named by went down with his ship in WW1 the HMS Tipperary during the battle of Jutland.

Hi Janice,
Stunning view of this landscape!
You really had a lot of DOF here, I think this is a very good POV to show all the majestic of this mount.
You built a great composition with the pines, moutain and the blue sky in excellent proportions.
Congratulations and thanks for share it.
My best regards,
JM

Hi Janice,
Great capture with good color and depth of field, The title reminded me of a movie I saw once, lol. Thanks for sharing Janice.
Rick

Looks like we are looking southeast to Mount Wintour from Highway #40...

What a great one < Mt. Wintour > to pick for this time of the year! ;)

Each mountain's name sure has it own story to tell! Who would think that a peak in the Rockies would be name after a naval captain whose ship, the Tipperary, sank with the loss of 185 hands from her crew of 197. One wonders about the other men!

Hi Janice, there was "The Other Side of the Mountain 2", as well wasn't there? Great shot of Mt. Wintour from behind. The texture on this is very good. I think I like this side better.

Thanks, John

Hi Janice
Another lovely shot. The formations at the rear of the mountain really convey a sense od 'thrusting skywards'. TFS James

It does look superb from either side, Janice!
The diagonal comp is a natural for this mountain, of course. Great colours and details, and fine notes!

Hi Janice,
K-Country is wonderful and not to far from where I live. This photo is well presented with good colour and details. The clouds help it to be more interesting than just a starkly blue sky.I like scenics and this mountain sure is one of them. Bob

Hi Janice,
A wonderful sunny photo with a majestic mountain. I like the jaged cliffs of this mountain. The colors are wonderful and fresh and the exposure is well managed. The focus does look a little soft in some places.

Niek

Hi Janice

What a splendid view over this impressive place.
The POV here is excellent and the colors in your landscape here are simply wonderful!
The almost vertical crests on the right seem most impressive and they somehow contrast the rather rounder ones on the left.
Very beautiful composition, too.

Bravo and TFS
Horia

Hello Janice,
A strong composition with good diagonal!
The rugged summit is well framed and captured with fine details, and the green forest adds to the nice colour palette...
A well composed image!
