[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
No I was not in a zoo. This picture was taken in 'Les Iles de Boucherville National Park', an island of the St-Laurent river near Montreal. In the past I have taken pictures of deers at this place but yesterday was unique. As I was snowshoeing I came upon several deers and to my surprise, some off them approached me. There is a lot of deer on these islands and some are getting use to seeing humans. One of them came to me and smelled my camera in my hand. No it's not food I told him. I begin to wounder if some visitors are feeding them tough it is prohibited.

I took several pictures and will post them in the days to come. This picture is dedicated to Arfer. I know he likes deer pictures.

Hello Patrick,
What a lovely photo of the Deer. It is nice to see the Deer in their natural surroundings. It is a very nice close up shot and well in focus. He has a sad look about him. Well done.

Hello Patrick

A beautiful portrait of this white tailed deer.The focus is excellent and the colours are well saturated.Winter feeding is legal here in Ontario,and the ministry of Natural Resources actually have a manual and guidelines online to read.It shows the pros and cons of winter feeding,and what to feed and what not to feed .Very nice POV and DOF.The details are sharp.I appreciate the dedication to me,as I do have an affinity for deer.TFS

Oui, j'ai vécu la même chose à cet endroit. Je crois que quelques personnes les nourissent, ils sont trop "friendly" avec les humains ou ils aiment vraiment poser. C'est incroyable comme endroit n'est-ce pas? Tu es certain de voir des cerfs quand tu y vas, c'est sur. C'est une très beau portrait bien composé avec d'excellent détails et une très belle composition. J'aime bien y aller et je crois que je vais y retourner bientôt. Merci!
