[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
These are very gentle birds. Some times males challenge each other by inflating their chests and jumping on two feet toward the rival.
They feed on the ground on whole seeds (they swallow sunflower seeds with the shell) and need to eat sand to digest the food. The food is always dry and they need to drink water after feeding. The way they drink is continuously and had down, not sip-by-sip and had up, like the other birds.
They usually snooze after each meal, their digestion being very demanding.

Hi Mario, lovely soft photo of your Dove. The feathers have so much detail and I love the POV of him chest fluffed up whilst snoozing. The colours and tones are great, especially the blue eye lids as he seems to peek through them at you. Great DOF and composition. It is lovely to see a Dove in his element relaxing. Great.

good photo. Light could be better... I like the sharpness in the feather. I post a mourning dove photograph just before you.
