To my knowledge these ducks look like the common domestic duck.. but why are they kept at the Ecomuseum with other wild ducks ?... There was this single couple of white ducks and the one near the snow was picking at it-- I wonder why ? he didn't find the water good enough ? wanted a drink "on the rocks" ? The second one seems to be waiting for here(his) turn.. So, I've seen other such white ducks on TN so I presume they are allowed here...

Hi Nina I have an answer for you , they are Greater Snow geese (ANSER COERULESCENS ATLANTICUS)have a look at this lot wild waterfowl of the world). yes these are often confused with the common EMbdens goose used for food and eggs in euroupe and know doubt in N. America and canada.
Good control of the exposure in the bright light and snow.

very good photo.. i like the colors and the tones so much.. so cool and cold.. great composition there.. tfs!

Really nice job on this one Nina. Good composition and great colors. I especially like the detail in the translucent snow areas, the small icicles hanging from the drift and the star-like reflection of the sun in the water. How polite these creatures are. Overall well done. TFS

Nice shot, I ölike the colours, but it could have been good to leave a bit more space in front.
Well done.
TFS.

I never thought ducks stayed in the winter! Too cold! Pretty picture!
