[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A recent post of a raptor and prey reminded me of the "real world" as it plays out in Nature. And so it is in this post.

The lesser fly { ID=Urophora cardui } in this shot is getting more...
My crab spider has also applied the same motto. By moving less she caught quite a bit more.

It was utterly amazing to me that while the green-bottle was being "sedated" the smaller stem-gall fly < Urophora cardui > was having a good suck on the daisy that was well past its prime, apparently totally oblivious or uncaring about the drama about one-and-a-half centimeters away...

These Crab Spiders, ( Misumena vatia ), are also known as a Flower or Goldenrod Spiders.

I would have called this predator, prey and pollination, hows that one for the young buck. I like what was done to this already great capture.

Hello Jay,
no more icicles - but flowers and fliers from New Scotland: that looks different my dear friend! Slowly, slowly, in the near future, you might even go as far as picturing butterflies. But you are not a friend of the idyllic places, I know. The little bit of horror provided by a crab spider in the petals makes flower power more digestible.
"Moving less you will be catching more" - what a nice motto, I'll gratefully take that with me!

this is avery good macro shot, you captured a good action
with the crab spinder hugging the poor fly, I think I have post a similar.

Hey Jay, in this case, more is more. The spider obviously is going for the bigger bite. I'm guessing while he's working on the big guy he's not going to worry about a little morsel like a stem-gall fly.

I like the composition with the small guy dead centre in the shot, while all of the activity takes place on the sidelines. Good colour and detail.

This one reminds me of the classic poem,"Will you walk into my parlor?" said the spider to the fly".Well seen and captured.There seems to be alot of activity going on,on top of that flower.Good overhead POV ,well focused with good use of lighting.TFS
