This is the scene I've been seeing out the front window of our house for the past month. The cold that came down from the artic, turned our lake into the artic too! If you look in the distance that isn't land there it is an iceberg, its about 12 miles out on the lake so if you can image it is pretty huge! I'm going to keep my eyes on it and see how long its going to take to melt..:)

This is a photo of Lake Erie, I live on the shore. At this point in time I am looking South West towards the United States of America. The lake is 57 Miles across.

Hello Donna,
Cold wintery scene you present for us today, happily Alberta seems to be coming out of our winter in a big way the last few days. The grey casts such a cool forboding mood to this great scene out your front window you lucky young lady.

Hello Donna,
The silver gray semi-frozen lake and the shapes of dark vegetation near the shore give the initial impression of this picture being black and white.
A wonderful picture in illustration of what you describe in your note.
TFS.

Folks from Newfoundland would take issue Donna ) Iceberg?

Icefield perhaps? All we need now is a dogteam eh? I love the shimmer on the ice, as well as the soft colour in the distant sky. Small nit, the horizon is a wee off. Tfs, Jay

Icebergs! What a surprise. I would not have imagined it from your summer time photos.

will add more later - sorry

Hello Donna,
A lovely capture with interesting details!
I like the use of backlight to make the shimmering tones, pleasantly contrasted with the naked branches up front!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hi Donna,
So this is the other one. On this one the iceberg isn't as clearly visable as your new upload, but I can still see the shapes of the packed ice. The mood in this photo with the soft light and the wonderful reflection of the sun on the ice surface is wonderful. This really looks like a cold scenery.

Niek
