Who: A flock of wild dolphins swimming along with the boat.
Where: Pacific Ocean near Todos Santos, Baja Norte province, Mexico
When: last weekend 12/19/2004 around 2 p.m.
Taken how: hanging over the nose of the catamaran boat (mission impossible, mission acomplished) praying I wont get saltwater on my lens and ruin it forever. A polarizer filter is imperiously necesary to eliminate all surface glare, a steady hold (elbow proped in stomach) and a fast speed 1/250 minimum and keep constant eye to have the perfect cadrage (yeah right ...) Of course this is not the perfect image at first glimpse but if you know dolphins in the wild and have a second look at it it becomes the perfect image, they are always together, always chaotic, always playful and always in motion and a shot of a motionless dolphin (in perfect focus) is patetic. I went to see gray whales and I stalked dolphins, as far as i`m concerned absolutelly no regrets !
Arent they beutiful creatures ?!

Pros: mood, composition, blurr, note
Cons: part of catamaran in bottom area?

Excellent Radu! Especially I like blurr effect.

Very interesting description of your "hunt". Congratulations, you succeeded very well in my point of view. Soft colors, excellent perpective of underwater dolphins.

excellent action shot. i like very much the tone of water colour.

WOW!!!!!!!! You have found my weakness, I loooooooooooove dolphins! The color of the water is beautiful! They are very beautiful creatures. I admire how you do it the hard way, most others just go to the aquarium.
